The Head of the Yarra is one of Australia’s largest rowing regattas. In recent years the Head of the Yarra has grown significantly, so much so that in 2015 it attracted more than 2100 competitors and 5000 spectators. The Head of the Yarra also receives national print, television and radio coverage. 

Our Audience

Widely considered the best regatta on the Australian rowing calendar, the Head of the Yarra represents the perfect medium through which corporations, both small and large, can connect with a highly engaged, active and affluent audience. Our competitors and spectators demonstrate the following characteristics :

  • 16-80 years of age, the majority of which are aged between 24 and 50
  • AB demographic
  • High disposable income
  • Employed in professional industries, including banking and finance, education, engineering, medicine and law
  • Engaged and passionate


Merchandise - all competitors are given a race t-shirt that prominently feature sponsor's logo

Digital - sponsor's logo is featured on the Head of the Yarra 'app' and website. The website is the sole source of event information for competitors; while the Head of the Yarra 'app' provides an on-the-day interface with competitors and spectators 

Races - sponsor featured as the naming rights partner of particular race categories

Event Posters - event posters that feature sponsor's logo distributed to, and displayed in, all major rowing clubs 12 weeks prior to the event

Event Signage - sponsor’s logo is prominently featured on all event signage, including on the backdrop of the podium and presentation stage. All medals and trophies are awarded in front of the backdrop

Event Programme - sponsor's logo featured in the Head of the Yarra programme

Event Recognition - sponsorship of the event is recognised by the race announcer and during trophy presentation
